Beaver Medical Group’s Inpatient Medical Director, Sameh Naseib, Earns Patient Safety Credential

Redlands, CA – Beaver Medical Group is proud to announce that the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety (CBPPS) recently recognized Sameh Naseib, MD, FACP, SFHM, CLHM, CPPS as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS).
“Earning this credential attests to Sameh’s professional competency in patient safety science and application,” said Patricia McGaffigan, RN, MS, CPPS, President CBPPS. This achievement demonstrates his expertise in this critical discipline and positions him among those committed to and leading patient safety work.”
Dr. Naseib is the Inpatient Medical Director for Beaver Medical Group patients admitted to Redlands Community Hospital and San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital. BMG hospitalists manage more than 50,000 patient encounters annually, providing BMG patients and other medical groups’ patients with high quality and safe patient care. In addition to his CBPPS certification, in 2013, he became the first of two physicians in the US to become certified in Hospital Medicine Leadership by Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM). Dr. Naseib is also part of an elite group of physicians to be Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine for Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Naseib earned this credential in part by passing a rigorous, evidence-based examination that tests candidates on their competency in patient safety science and application. Candidates are tested on five core patient safety domains: Culture, Leadership, Patient Safety Risks and Solutions, Measuring and Improving Performance, and Systems Thinking and Design/Human Factors.
More than 3,000 professionals have earned the CPPS credential, representing all 50 US states and 20 countries.
